The Stories We Tell
Stories sit at the heart of the human experience , shaping how we understand and meet the world. Today, dominant tales of individualism, extraction, and relentless progress pull us away from each other, from ourselves, and from nature.
Through evocative, soul stirring poetry, Mark De’Lisser invites us to pause, reframe, and retell those stories. The Stories We Tell is a call to rewrite our age with narratives of connection, kinship, and courage.Mark De’Lisser is a poet, spoken word artist, and facilitator based in Somerset. His work moves through the landscapes of memory, identity, and belonging, listening for the voices that speak beneath the surface of things. A dynamic performer, he has appeared at festivals including Buddhafield and Shambala, using poetry and storytelling to create moments of deep connection. He runs writing workshops that blend creativity with deep listening to nature and is the author of the poetry collection Ashes to the Breeze (Cogito Publishing, 2025).
