“British Americana meets Gallic flair somewhere on Mars” is one way to describe the latest solo album from Hot Chip stalwart Alexis Taylor. Paris In The Spring arrived this year, his seventh offering, and one that features the likes of Air’s Nicolas Godin, The Avalanches, and Lola Kirke: a cosmic rodeo, free from genre and preconceptions, but retaining Taylor’s trademark androgynous vocals and a touch of what might be described as “synthesisers left out in the rain”.
