The Shape of Water is Guillermo del Toro’s award-winning (fishy) tale of loneliness, love and finding friendships in the most unusual of circumstances. Celebrating the 50th year since its release, Yellow Submarine is a family-friendly psychedelic picture, with visuals that’ll transport you straight back to the '60s. Also one for the kids is coming-of-age classic, Stand By Me a tale of drama, childhood identity and nostalgia.
And if it’s live movie scoring you’re after, then The Inferno Unseen will be a rare opportunity to witness an immersive screening with a live electronic score from music producer and filmmaker Rollo Smallcombe. Also on the programme is a double-bill from auteur, Lynne Ramsay - showing the inimitable Morvern Callar and psychological thriller You Were Never Really Here back-to-back.
Then there’s some for the music buffs: I Called Him Morgan, the tragic tale of jazz great Lee Morgan; Whitney, an exploration into the life and career of Whitney Houston; This Is Spinal Tap, the mockumentary comedy of a heavy-metal bands rise and fall.
Casey & Ewan’s Crystal Massage will serve up wildly eclectic and awe-inspiring videos, full of DIY aesthetics and tongue-in-cheek humour. For 4½ hours they will be taking control of the cinema tent and putting on some of their favourite bands, accompanied by whacked-out art-trash visuals and punctuated by their own unique brand of music videos.
And there’s plenty more on offer - check out the full line-up here!
