Outside Green Man

As a Green Man Settler, your Pass gives you the opportunity to explore the breathtaking Welsh countryside. Go further afield beyond the festival site and discover the wonder of Wales with special discounts on heritage sites, galleries, waterfalls, gardens, castles, and much more…



The Settlement experience wouldn’t be complete without a good ol’ fashioned barbecue. Use one of our Settlement barbeques and buy your produce from the local butcher Cashells, you’ll find their stall onsite. Ask at the steward’s cabin for charcoal & firelighters. (The BBQ’s are free to use; the only thing we ask is that you clean up after yourselves so that other people can use them after you)

Mission: Save The World
Join this interactive performance workshop to unlock six steps to save the planet. Tackling different themes from water, energy, food, houses, waste and travel in ten minute segments. Combining the powers of everyone's creativity and with the ingenious escape room style tasks, everyone will work together to unlock the power to save the planet across the hour show.

Keep your fingers crossed for clear skies on Monday & Tuesday. See the famous Perseid meteor shower and meander along the Milky Way with USK Astronomical Society. Sign up on site, or bring your own telescope/binoculars and sit back and watch the world go by.

Still got your fingers crossed? If the sun comes out on Monday and Tuesday at this years Settlement then we can all safely boost the production of our melatonin and serotonin by using the solar telescopes to see the powerful surface of the sun.

Silent Disco
Get your best dancing gear on get ready for the disco masters. The biggest Silent Disco club night is coming to the Settlement and you are invited. Choose your vibe from the 3 channels and boogie the night away without making a sound.

Silent Disco Baby Rave
Your baby wants to boogie too. This year’s silent disco baby rave will see parents and their infants making all the shapes in a friendly environment.

Yoga Storytelling (for kids or grown up kids)
Yoga Storytelling is an interactive workshop which is part-yoga, part-story and 100% silly. Everyone makes the shapes and sounds and moves of dog, snake, crab, pigeon, butterfly, cat and cow as we all tell the story together.

Porthcawl bike hire have a selection of their 3-inch tyred ‘fat bikes’ for hire, perfect for exploring the rural terrain of the Brecon Beacons. Visit Brecon
The Brecon Beacons features incredible natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage. Visit Brecon will be onsite to give you all the inside information to explore the hidden gems of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Wild Solar
Wild Solar will be bringing their incredible solar rig to this years Settlement, providing phone charging facilities for you as well as running willow basket and charcoal making workshops while you wait £3 per charge plus £10 deposit to charge where you like

Get crafty with the Junkfish team. They’ll be making spoon puppets, flappy birds, painted masks and fridge magnets at the Settlement, using mostly recycled materials. Or maybe you want to show off your hula-hooping skills? They’ll have circus and garden games, and a junk ball run for the whole family.

Elemental Mandala Making
Experience the language of archetypes in this hands-on mandala making workshop. Finding and using natural materials, we will create personal mandalas that are then arranged into one giant collaborative mandala! Choose from the elements of Earth, Water, Fire or Air to draw inspiration and wisdom that will guide you through this sacred space, or spend time connecting the mandalas together, bridging the gap between worlds and uniting the mandala into one.

Home Herbal Workshop
The Brecon Beacons is home to a number of edible and medicinal plants. In this workshop, learn about the folklore and traditional uses of our local flora here in Wales, and across the UK, as well as identification, energetics and preparation methods of these powerful plants that have been used for centuries to restore vitality!

Learn what’s edible and where to find it at the Settlement, with award winning foraging expert Adele Nozedar.

Drag Queen Storytime and Meet and Greet
Aida H Dee is the first Drag Queen in Europe to read stories to children in a nursery! She has read interactive stories all across the country. Not one to be missed!

Welsh for beginners
Really immerse yourself in Cymru and learn some useful Welsh vocabulary for your stay at the Settlement in this fun, informal and interactive workshop.

National Trust - Natural Paint Making
This hands-on workshop will provide an opportunity for anyone interested in learning about making their own natural paints, provided by our very own Mother Nature.

Kite Making with the National Trust
Get closer to nature! Young explorers and your ‘not so’ grown-ups will get the chance to join the ranger team and let the creativity flow with some kite making.

The Annual ‘Save the Planet’ Intergalactic Superhero Conference
Under the Sun will be hosting an art and drama workshop where we will be calling on the superheroes of tomorrow to design their own superhero alter egos and be sent on missions to save the planet! The conference will be hosted by no other than The Golden Egg, where our young superheroes will present to each other the brilliant and bizarre ways in which they've rescued our planet from peril!

Mud Pie Workshop
Connect with your inner child whilst learning about soil conservation at the mud pie workshop. At the end of the session you get to fling your lovingly made creations at an unsuspecting target!

Pirates Save Arrr Seas Workshop
Come along to create and perform your own Pirate myths and legends with Settlement favourites Dan Yr Haul/Under the Sun. Come along and learn about Wales's Pirate history, and be inspired to create your own!

Learn Welsh Through Games and Drama Workshop
Join bilingual company Under the Sun to learn basic Welsh through drama based games and activities, culminating in what will promise to be hilarious new Welsh language performances!

Al Fresco Forge
Did you know one of the most famous pirates to ever sail the seven seas, Bart Black, hailed from Wales? Stamp your own pirate treasure using aluminium sheet metal smelted in a charcoal forge and a drop hammer. £ cash only

Using a human powered pole lathe, work off your energy and learn some new woodworking skills in this rustic workshop. £ cash only

Wild Wednesday Forest School
A wild adventure awaits you and your family with the National Trust’s Wild Wednesday on the Sugar Loaf near Abergavenny. Sign up on site the day before (Tuesday) with the National Trust team and get ready for some den building, creating wild art or hunting a bug or two. £3 per child, accompanying adults free; cash only.

National Trust - Be A Ranger for the Day
If you are looking for a different kind of adventure with the National Trust, we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. Fight the greenery and help keep our heathland open on the Sugar Loaf by joining our ranger team as they maintain the access routes and control invasive tree encroachment. Sign up on site the day before (Tuesday) with the team.

POW! Brunch
POW! Brunch is a participatory workshop for all ages. Two experienced hosts hold a three-course menu of interactive talks, motivational activities and recipes for everyday activism, focused on wellbeing and sustainability. Bring your diverse experiences (and snacks!) to the table, exchange ideas and make connections in a warm, inclusive setting.

Ease into the day with some mindfulness at our morning yoga sessions - suitable for adults and little folk alike. Bring a mat or towel £5pp cash only

Guided Walks and Artist Workshop
CRiC’s finest walking guides will be on site with a variety of walks:
Tuesday – Glanusk – Table Mountain – Crickhowell – canal, 8.3 miles 1800ft ascent

Wednesday - the Usk Valley trail – Llangynidr - River Usk – canal, 8.3 miles 1200ft ascent
They also invite you to wander on down to their beautiful gallery in Crickhowell or stay onsite for a hands-on artist workshop. Numbers are limited so sign up onsite at the Steward’s Cabin & bring your best walking boots!

Settler’s Pub Quiz
We’ve had some real brainiacs at our Settlement pub quiz over the years. Think you’ve got the wits to outsmart them? Put your knowledge to the test on Wednesday night, straight after our bands.

Drag Queen Show
If you like a sing along and laugh, come along to the Drag Queen show with Miss Aida H Dee. She is one of the most hyperactive drag queens around. She's interactive, she's loud, and she is excited to meet you all!

Late night comedy
There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor. Join us on the last evening of the Settlement for a giggle with a line-up of Welsh comedians. Stick around after the infamous Wednesday night pub quiz.

The gardens used to belong to the Linda Vista Villa, built in 1875. It became a public park in 1957, after which the district council added further land increasing it significantly in size. The gardens are meticulously maintained, known for the beauty and intricacy of the plants, and their layout.
