The Future of Food

Against a backdrop of climate change and population growth, how are we going to feed the next generation? Will technology provide the tools to crack the future of food? Innovations in lab-grown meat, AI and robotics hold potential to disrupt our food system. Or do we need to look to the past and reconnect with regenerative approaches? Holistic management of livestock and traditional rotations can help our farms become part of the climate solution while ensuring rural livelihoods. With cities continuing to grow, will urban agriculture take a leading role in delivering food security? We can all recognise the public health crisis that fast and ultra-processed foods has wrought, what needs to be done at a policy level to ensure that all people can afford healthy and nutritious food? In the future of food, there are no easy answers. This session will invite debate and discussion.
