“The vast, desolate moors, the cold wind and over-flowing rivers, and the dust-filled bothies shrouded in fog”: Natalie Wildgoose’s North Yorkshire upbringing flows into all she does. She records songs in the county’s Victorian mills, grade II-listed village halls, and isolated chapels, using her grandfather’s old reel-to-reel tape recorder, to predictably ghostly effect. Her new EP Come Into The Garden is the most recent instance of her folk and piano-led sound, informed by Molly Drake, Joan Baez, and traditional folk songs found in books left by her grandfather.
