When comedian Alexandra Haddow says indie night, she means “proper, full on, fiver in, Red Stripe by the gallon, northern lads singing about pulling and dancing, snog-someone-at-the-end-of-the-night-and-get-a-kebab-on-the-way-home”. She dreamed up the idea after walking past a tour poster for The Subways in 2020, though the first Indie Amnesty night didn’t happen until later the next year, for obvious reasons. Now Indie Amnesty is a well-established club night — “the best indie disco since 2008” — where you can pretend it’s anywhere between 1990 and 2010. See you on the dancefloor in your skinniest of jeans.
