Aiming for “the balance between the really in-your-face and the more tender moments”, Been Stellar may be named after the US actor Ben Stiller, and hail from New York, but their sound owes plenty to a distinctly more British and Irish flavour. They’re signed to London label Dirty Hit, took inspiration from the successes of Fontaines DC, shame, and IDLES, and made their debut album — called Scream From New York, NY, for “when words aren’t enough” — with Dan Carey.
