What started out in 2008 as the solo bedroom recordings of ex-Fall musician Tim Presley has quickly become a mercurial project, encompassing everything from baroque pop and sixties psychedelia to folk and garage. As White Fence, Presley has released eight records, two a collaboration with Ty Segall. His latest output, I Have To Feed Larry’s Hawk, takes a stylistic left turn, zeroing in on the piano to pay emotive homage to Presley’s Bay Area roots. With songs like ‘Fog City’, the record is part love-letter to San Francisco as a refuge and place of mental stability, harmony even. We hope he’ll feel the same way about our hills and mountains when he comes down to Green Man in August.
