“The torch has been passed,” said American fingerpicking legend Stefan Grossman of Muireann Bradley. At just seventeen, she’s a prodigious blues talent — and a fearsome boxer — who grew up listening to her father’s blues records on car rides around their hometown of Ballybofey, Ireland. She released her debut album, I Kept These Old Blues, last year: renditions of early and revival blues tunes recorded in the same way as the originals — in one or two takes, with “no modern recording tricks”.
