Lucinda Williams

Raised on polk salad and poetry, Lucinda Williams is country music’s own Flannery O’Connor, a proclaimed ‘itinerant Southern Gothic beat poet’. Her conflicted characters confess of heartache, whiskey-stained outlaws, and roadside jukeboxes. Williams roamed at the fringes until the world woke up to her 1998 release Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. Fourteen albums and a full, varied career later, she’s firmly established as the pioneer of alt-country, and we’re beyond honoured to welcome her to Green Man this year.
