Joy Orbison — aka Joy O, or Peter O’Grady — released his debut full length project, still slipping vol.1, in 2021, but he’s been influencing the electronic music scene for far longer. He’s DJed since he was 13, ears shaped by his veteran jungle DJ uncle, and broke out in 2009 with his track Hyph Mngo. On still slipping he incorporated voice notes of family exchanges over lockdown into his usual tapestry of broad influences, including house, dubstep, UK garage and jungle. Joy O tends to avoid the limelight, but his live performances are anything but demure.
