Jessica Winter

Queen of the sadbanger, purveyor of dark glittery synth-pop, and enthusiast of what she calls ‘crance’ — music to make you cry and dance — Jessica Winter is guaranteed to get the floor moving when she comes to Green Man this summer. The lyricist and producer grew up on a diet of Nine Inch Nails and Siouxsie and the Banshees, though her music is just as likely to channel Madonna, trap, pop, and indie disco. She’s produced for Jazmin Bean and Walt Disco, and gained approval from The Cure’s Robert Smith: no surprise, given she called her debut EP Sad Music, and her second EP the efficiently-titled More Sad Music. You might be crying — you’ll certainly be dancing.
