Deep Throat Choir

It’s not what you’re thinking – it’s just voices and drums! Admittedly more subversive than your standard choir, the thirty-strong all-female singing collective formed in 2013 out of a desire to uncork the raw power of harmony and voice. Their communal energy transforms sentiments such as ‘show me emotional respect’. Deep Throat Choir released a debut album, Be OK, in 2017, consisting of both originals and covers (Amy Winehouse and Little Dragon among others). They’re no strangers to performing and collaborating, here at Green Man, but also at Southbank Centre, Jazz Café, and Shakespeare’s Globe, with artists like Simian Mobile Disco, Peggy Sue, and Matthew E White. ‘I’ll be OK if you carry me, it carries me,’ they sing, fostering a spirit of togetherness and renegade fun that’s more than welcome at Green Man.
