Multi-instrumentalist George Barnett (18) is an emerging new artist from Herefordshire. The former UK National Young Drummer Of The Year (2008) has embarked on a journey of ground breaking instrument and genre hopping. In 2010 George released the acclaimed debut EP Sierra Planes, recorded aged 15. George’s unique methods of recording all the instruments himself and self-production lead this artist to releasing his finest work to date in 17 Days (the album), in March 2012. All songs are written, played, sung, recorded and produced by this one super talent, and the album is already being hailed by some as a contender for album of the year. Its video for lead single Lone Rose drew world wide attention resulting in 100,000 views on Youtube in it’s first month.
When George performs shows it is with his live band, George Barnett & The Ninth Wave, who have a growing reputation in their ability to whip up a crowd. The band recently supported Bastille in Birmingham, and likewise with the highly acclaimed The Milk in June. A headline show at The Clapham Grand, on July 13th 2012 will be George's only London date in the near future. A great year is expected from this bright new star.
