The five piece started up last summer and have gathered a growing reputation over the last few months. The thing that makes the band stand out, apart from Amelia's big hair and Pat's Ivy League good looks, is how they create their songs. They dream them. Big sis Amelia explains 'as Twins we regularly have joint dreams, these gives us the ideas and tunes for our songs, we then simply translate our dreams into reality'. Pat, the shyer younger brother whispers, 'our uncle helps too, and sometimes his interventions can take the song in a direction we never dreamed of......' he stifles a giggle.

BENTCOUSIN have a mission, 'to bring the mischief and danger back to pop music', which they feel is missing, 'our generation seems caught in a vortex of over sanitised pop or mumbling lo fi authenticity, but we not interested in either, we are interested in fun and spontaneity, and I think that comes across when we play live'. The bands live shows have gained a reputation of being more like parties than traditional gigs, with followers, (fondly referred to as 'benders'), dressing up for the night, bringing banners and showering each other with glitter. 'The glitter thing started when we introduced our song Glittery Joe into the set' 'yeah, but covering a Gary Glitter song probably contributed!' adds Pat. The group explain they are not interested in being 'appropriate' and say that's it's rock and rolls responsibility to say the unsayable, and use catchy hooks a long the way.

'another dream' they both start, (they are prone to starting and finishing each other sentences), 'David Bowie came to us in a joint dream, and told us we had to form a band and we had to call it BENTCOUSIN, so we did...well you've gotta follow your dreams, haven't you?
