Molly Wagger

Molly Wagger - Able Mable

“Think ‘cheerier Radiohead’ and ‘more electro-fied Arcade Fire’ and you’re in the right ballpark. This is exceptionally cool songwriting.”

Molly Wagger are a five-piece electronic folk outfit from Edinburgh. We began back in 2006 while studying at Edinburgh University. We moved to London in 2011 where we now live together. It's nice and cosy.

We've released two singles and one album to date, all on Tirk Records. We've had some lovely airplay with 6music's Steve Lamacq, as well as Tom Robinson's BBC Introducing.

We are Charlie, James, Dave, Ed and Charlie. And we would like to play at Green Man.

“In ‘Flambeaux’ Molly Wagger has made a melancholic, lowslung, post-rock gem...there’s a world-weary but rather beautiful tone to vocalist Charlie Denholm that’s not unlike Beta frontman Steve Mason”

“Lots of cool things come out of Edinburgh: my distant relatives, Trainspotting, but what takes the cake is Molly Wagger... they are a four-piece electronic-folk outfit that will blow your mind”

“With its rollicking beats and melancholy melodies, it’s something I don’t think any artist I’ve heard before touches on in quite the same way. It took me completely by surprise the way the music evolved, and I think it may do the same for you”
