We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic people age 18 or over to be stewards at the Green Man Festival 2013. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who would like to get involved with the festival and experience what it’s like behind the scenes. The role of stewarding mainly involves giving information to the public at the event: it’s a really important position because you will be the main point of contact between the festival and the public, so we need lots of happy, smiley people!
We recruit people on a voluntary basis, which means that you won’t be paid anything, but you will get a free festival ticket, plus one free meal per shift. Since volunteer stewards are not on duty any longer than three six-hour shifts across the entire festival weekend, this means that you’ll get time off to enjoy the event.* It’s really good fun being a steward – it’s sociable because you’ll get to meet lots of other like-minded people, and you’ll see some great music, all set in the stunning location of Glanusk Park.
To volunteer at this event you must pay a deposit which will be refunded in cash at the end of the festival. At the end of the application form you will be redirected to PayPal. If you have any problems please contact stewards@greenman.net so we can advise how to proceed.
New Stewards or those who have not stewarded the festival since 2008 - £145.
Stewards who have stewarded one year since 2009 - £100.
Stewards who have stewarded two years since 2009 - £75.
Stewards who have stewarded three years since 2009 - £50.
Stewards who have stewarded 2009, '10, '11 and '12 -£25.
If you are a new steward you will be expected to be on-site for registration before 5pm on Wednesday 14 August and the last shifts are allocated up to 7pm on Monday 19 August. We will try to let you know your shifts by 14 July 2013 and you are free to collect your deposit and leave site at the end of your last shift. If you have stewarded at the Green Man Festival since 2009 you can arrive later on Wednesday evening as long as you are available for a briefing before your first shift.
You will need to upload a passport style photo, you are also required to pay a deposit of £145 to secure your place, which will be returned to you if you are not accepted, cannot make the festival or once you complete all your shifts.
