antlers

i'm with you on this, having heard people raving about them i also made more of an effort tha i usually would but i'm really not getting it - glad it's not just me

what do you reckon to the cave singers?

Well i noticed a clash of antlers, laura marling and michael kiwanuka and was advised to go the antlers. Had a listen and was a bit over produced for my liking. so im with you two on this. havent tried cave singers yet, this week hopefully.

Given that choice and given I've seen Laura M a couple of times before at GM I'd be going for Michael Kiwanuka - if his other songs are half as good as Tell Me A Tale then he's going to be pretty special (though I'm assuming it will be a solo set).

Gonna give them a go as I don't really wanna see Laura Marling. If they're crap then I'll give her a try or get more drunk.

Antlers are nothing special in my eyes, have seen the cave singers a couple of times including green man 08(i think)-i like them,a kind of a traditional back woods southern state banjo plucking thing going on,but i don't think they are from the south and i think they used to be another band called pretty girls make graves and i can't recall any banjos in that lot.Yes i'd check them out particular for the track seeds of night which is rather good.

Antlers - the first album is VERY good.  The second one, based on the few listens i've given it, less so.

Cave Singers are brill.  Their set in 08 was one of my all time GM highlights.

cave singers are all right

i'm not sure about the fella's voice

might be better live than on record

i haven't been able to get into 'no witch' that much

but i do like this version of one of the songs from it:

i think only one of them was in PGMG, wasn't he?

the guitar player

Nevermind Krasnyi. I've just cut 'n' pasted it into my address bar and it worked fine.

They're not bad are they? I'll probably lend an ear come August. I like the rhythm section on that track. Kinda reminds me of early Adam & the Antz/Bow wow wow (not a criticism).

Mac user eh? I'm on a pc. Swings and roundabouts. We pc users can't post links on Richard Dawkins's website so it all balances out.
