Any ideas, anyone know when it will be announced? Care to take a guess? I'd hazard a guess that they will wait to see on ticket sales before making a decision.

Be very surprised if they are not already signed up, sells out every year quite easily so can't imagine why it won't this year.

James Yorkston?
It's the 10th anniversary of his first album as well as Greenman's 10th Birthday... He's played almost every Greenman so far and has a new album on the way, not to mention all his Fence mateys are already playing, and they tend to like performing together.
Now that would make me
Now that would make me enormously happy. And seeing how Kenny and Johnny Pictish are around anyway it'd be just plain silly not for them to join in too. If one day of Green Man was just devoted to Fence artists I'd be chuffed. I did ask James some time ago on facebook if he was going to be at GM this year and he said he hadn't been asked. Oh please let it be James Yorkston!!!
What ... they put him on at
What ... they put him on at the same time as Fleet Foxes last year and then didn't have him on the top of the booking list this year?
I'm convinced then ... only JY is special enough to be our guest.
Yeah!!!!!
Yeah!!!!!
James Yorkston would be VERY
James Yorkston would be VERY good. M'self and the missus hadn't really heard him before we came to GM in '06, but he was a highlight for both of us.
Circulus played that year too and I don't think they've been back since. I'd LOVE to see them @ GM again.

Hi Walter do you know if a special guest is yet to be announced and if so any idea how long we will have to wait to find out?
Sorry for the delay, i've
Sorry for the delay, i've been trying to tear a shoe to smitherinees.............. There are just two acts to be announced from the main three stages- The Special Guest and one more. Unfortunately for contractual reasons we are not allowed to announce the SG until July.
We think they are worth waiting for...
Wooooof x
ps- have lovely long weekends y'all!
do you think that's a genuine
do you think that's a genuine 'they' - as in a band

There was me thinking that
There was me thinking that the last announcement was going to end all the speculation.
I can't take much more of this ... we should be on to worrying about the weather at this point in the proceedings.
grizzly bear just announced
grizzly bear just announced UK dates at the end of august
so could the TBA be them?
i mean, i hope not, i think they're twiddly prog bobbins
but some folk like them
Does Grizzly Bear headlining
Does Grizzly Bear headlining EOTR make this any more or less likely?
I know there's a HUGE cross-over between GM and EOTR, particularly the frequent reciprocal headliner exchange from one year to the next, but I would say that GB headlining EOTR on a Bella Union mega-day would make them relatively unlikely to be at GM...

you're probably right

Hmmm. They're one of those bands that I'd 'like' to like more, but there's something that just gets in the way.
I listened to Veckatimest a lot before Latitude 2010 as I was very keen to enjoy seeing them headline the second stage...and it's a very good record, in parts. There's perhaps just a little too much indulgent noodling for the record to allow me to become very fond of it. At times GB just seem to try a bit too hard. How often do I think that about bands...?
Oh, obviously you don't know me and therefore might struggle to answer that. The answer is, frequently.
Ben
no, i know exactly what you
no, i know exactly what you mean
i always thought i was going to like them
but i just can't get past all the muso twiddling

Could it be Bon Iver?
Announced that their only UK summer show was to be at Latitude. So the 'wait until July before announcing' message might fit.
I would be happy if it was.

Grizzly Bear would indeed be music to my ears. I thought they were v. good in '09. Not wanting to come over all Victor Kiam, but they were so good I went to the rough trade tent and bought Veckatimest. They're not in the least bit proggy btw - no unusual time signatures, no long solos, no concept albums, no jazz odyssey and their fan base includes no tory MPs.
still shite though

Bat For Lashes have announced
Bat For Lashes have announced new album and UK dates in autumn, preceded by summer festival shows, as yet unannounced so far as I'm aware. Surely a decent bet?
