ALL NIGHT DISCO WRECKED MY WEEKEND

indeed

although i actually only know who jeremy kyle is from the context in which he is consistently mentioned

i couldn't pick him out of a line up

probably because i'm old

I didn't realise anyone else here had a proper job scousebaby - thought you were all teachers and such.

Hope you find something else good soon ... or at least something to foot the bar bill at GM :)

Bore da pawb,

I don't acknowledge any other threads on this forum so am asking this question here:

Has anyone been to End of the Road and if so what's it like? With no Glasto we're one festival short for the summer and EotR is on the shortlist.

On the tesco/beer topic, they currently have 3for2 on the big bottles of Leffe and an even more remarkable 4 for £5 on SA Gold or Rev James. Say what you will about globilisation, those are two top quality deals.

Some friends of mine have been to EoTR for the past three years and swear by it, much preferring it to Green Man. It's about half the size of GM and always has a cracking line-up. would love to go one year but it does clash with the kids going back to school. No Direction home in June is organised by the same people and looks pretty damn good too.

Not half the size it's got between 8 and 10,000 punters I think. Lost a bit of character with the expansion and a new main stage but a good line-up and a good atmosphere. It's pretty much GM without mountains.

I don't know. I'm always asleep by 12.30.

perhaps one of the 'wild bunch' would know?

They stay up late cutting a rug apparantly.

Do they?

You do surprise me.

But then you camp in a different part of the site I believe.

They can sit around with them all they like, providing they don't actually 'play' them.

Piano accordians are fiendishly difficult to play, requiring the coordination of many different kinds of movement.

And they still sound like they are going 'eeowwww whumpa whumpa whumpa'.

Except for Queen Ida and Buckwheat slim and him wot did la bamba first time round.

This is what I have been hankereing after, good old-fashioend bongo debate. It's like the smell of napalm in the morning, I can't get enough of it.

There will surely be all night dancing. Though it's hard to get a sense what is happening in the far out tent after dark from the line-up yet. I know Sunday night is shaping up to be a bit of a psychedelic eggstravaganza..

I note, with interest, the presence of a chap with a very fancy button accordian on stage with the French President elect in Tulle last night.

However, even a French Socialist drew the line at a set of bongos.

This bodes well for the future of Europe.

A similarly robust attitude to bongos should prevail at Glanusk.

living a chunk of the year in france, i can heartily concur with anyone glad to see the back of sarko

and, on the subject of accordions, beth tacular played a mean one with bowerbirds in london last night

so

double whammy

green man pub stage...dancing in the rain (to tuneful melodic, if a little random, tunes. not that the far out isn't tuneful and melodic but...) staring at the stars, drinking rum and apple juice.

Can't wait :D xx

the best thing about being one of the great unwashed is that i can piss off to Spain for a week....

I want you all to behave. If the social come round , tell them I've just gone to the shops. I've left twenty pounds under the clock on the mantelpiece in case you run out of sterilised milk, please don't spend it on wizz...

bye bye...

That it I am done with this place especially Kras. The only decent thing I have ever started on any forum anywhere and Kras give the credit to someone else. That's me done with the GM, I will be giving my tickets away and selling my tent, it's off to somewhere dry and warm for me in August...
:)
Welcome back FK
Oh well I might just hang around, keep my tickets and tent just in case.....

Sorry Ferg. I think FK started the original thread on the old message board. How much do you want for the tickets and the tent?

Damn I wish that was a real offer...looks like I won't be able to find the funds for the petrol, let alone a ticket. Still way short of making up the deficit from my living costs loan to my accomodation...

What do you want another tent for Krasnyi?

Store your bongos?

Organise an alternative all night disco, featuring the best in Scandawegian Twee?

Hold a free-form accordion session?

We should be told.

Yes, it's very kind but I couldn't take your charity, there are much needier causes than mine...plus I'd only end up getting assaulted by Van the Man.

Hey the offers on the table,30 quid so far, think of it as part of the 'big society' coming together. What's a tenner between friends,it's certainly better than missing green man, especially the 10th annniversary.

No, it's very kind but I honestly couldn't take it, there are many things more deserving of that money...I'll try and find a way to make it there but I've got lots of other things lined up for the summer. And if I don't make it this year I know I'll make it again soon.

Yeah, that's my idea at the moment but I can't even cover petrol costs yet...I'll wait and see. Very nice that you all take an interest :)

thanks folks :)

and you can take the credit Fergal as you're a much more hardcore boarder than me :) so don't go...

oh no, wait a minute, you didn't! ;) good job given the time it took me to get round to replying.

x

Would be quite a ride if I'm honest, 160 miles or so is probably a bit beyond my station (especially with a tent and food and drink and stuff)
