Did anyone see Ellen & The Escapades last year?

Hello Fellow Green Men!

I am new to all this foruming sp dont mock me ;) ! ha !

I was wondering if anyone else has seen an obvious obmission from the line up?

A band that i discovered last year at Green Man called Ellen & The Escapades. They don't seem to be playing this year :( !

The filled the main tent last year and they didn't even have an album out! I pledged for them and recently got my copy. WHICH IS EPIC !

I dunno... I was wondering if anyone else is with me on getting some Green Man love together and getting them on the bill ? :)

I didn't get to see E&TE last year, but really like the the track that's on Soundcloud.

Looks like the album's not available to the rest of us for a couple of weeks yet - I shall watch out for it.

There are still quite a few acts to be announced so hopefully they'll make an appearance.

They were ace, loads of people I think wandered past and decided to stay! To some massive cheering at the end! It was thoroughly enjoyed :) !

Yeah its great! I have just noticed they have put another track from the album up today - http://soundcloud.com/ellenandtheescapades It's really worth the wait!

I hope the Green Man himself reads this and makes sure they play this year too :) ! Would love to hear them on the main stage !!!

Are you the man that was selling wooden mushrooms? If so... I bought one!!!

That's a good 'un too.

I did have them on my 'to see' list but was must have been distracted by something else. Unfortunately I'm on holiday during their tour next month so would especially welcome a repeat appearance this year. Must be about time for another announcement Green Man.

I'm not the mushroom man, but I did steal his sign for my avatar. Although as per discussions on another thread, spooky avatars seem to be in vogue this year so I may update soon.

i just had a look and they're doing an album tour very soon! So i'll be along to one of those :) !

Yeah I hope they put them on again! It would be a shame if they don't ! Always good to see great new bands Green Man !!! :)

I think End of The Road were getting too much publicity following the revalations about possible links with the Scientologists. We need to get some rumours going about Green Man. A hint of devil worship around the campfire should stir things up.

Can we get Ellen and The Escapades to write an anthem for us?

Or might that be a bit twee? 

We could have a Cult of Twee - but we'd probably be mistaken for a Darjeeling appreciation society or something.

It's all very difficult really.

I think we'd be walking on thin ice with 'cunt'....I called my friend one on the Saturday last year, you should have seen the look on one womens' face. I honestly thought that I would wake up in The Green Man on the Sunday night.. I don't know what her probelm was, There were no children around. And I did use to be a lesbian.

Ha, I have just read all this.... wow! I don't know where to start ? Is there a cult starting? Are we getting Ellen & The Escapades to write us a theme tune?

Yeah they were ace! Maybe we can start this cult and demand them to be on the bill this year ha ?!

Is it just me, or do band names go through phases?

There seem to be lots of similar-sounding artist/band names breaking through at the same time. For example, some years back the fashion was simply for using one's real name. Then there was a phase of 'Something and the somethings' e.g.

Erland and the Carnival

Esben and the Witch

Ellen and the Escapades 

 

Coinicidence? I think we should be told.
