ALL NIGHT DISCO WRECKED MY WEEKEND

A tail you say?

What kind of tail- rats tail, cows tail, squirels tail, monkeys tail, or is that the surprise?

Myself, I've always like the idea of a pair of subtle, but visible, horns.

Fergal..I didn't meet a Father Faherty, there was a priest in our parish, who when I think back was decidely suspect....and as for the ugly spectre of catholicism, it's responsible for a hell of a lot more than a wrecked weekend...as I am sure we all agree

the ugly spectre of catholicism wrecked my life

it's snappy

and makes no reference to either ass or mouth

or the order in which they should be tackled

without wishing to appear pedantic, 'Gregorian' refers to the rule of Pope Gregory, who was, of course, a Catholic.

As for chanting, the Gregorians have nothing on the Copts, who chant accompanied by large percussion instruments.

Imagine that at 3.45am. But they do have good beards.

When I worked in Brum the Hare Krishnas used to chant outside the office every afternoon.

I found it rather pleasant, but it drove some of my colleagues to distraction.

You just can't please everyone.

Not heard of these Copts ... but they could ignite the Bongo debate again so best steer clear of them.

...has sorted that one out once and for all, but it's been endlessly criticised for being too strident. Weirdly its most vocal critics are a/bongoists themselves...

But Jesus Christ is alive and well ... it's John and Elvis that are dead !

What's with these somewhat unsettling avatars that people are sporting? It it a cult or something ?

Should we join? Will we need to be induced?

No, that's when you're pregnant isn't it? ... I think I mean inducted ...

... or seduced?

seduced might be nice.

Who's keespopinga? It says that he/she started this thread. I know Parkes original post got deleted with the new not-at-all improved forum but there never was a keespopinga was there?

 'Course I do!

Kees Popinga is a character in the Georges Simenon novel "The Man Who Watched Trains Go By'

I assumed that  'Daniel Day-Lewis' had at some point switched his identity to avoid the fall out or to cause a bit of mischief elsewhere. Good name though.

DD-L changed, or was changed, to 'Kindermusik', which, given the nature of his posts, must be intended to be ironic.

I haven't read 'The Man Who Watched Trains Go By', but I suspect I'd probably enjoy it. As work involves lots of trains I try to avoid them in leisure pursuits, although I suspect trains may not be central to Simenon's novel.

And I do like listening to 'Slow Train Coming', and 'Ride This Train', and of course 'The Day We Caught The Train' was surely Ocean Colour Scene's finest moment, so maybe I'll buy a copy ... of the book that is.

surely we can work 'bump' into a t-shirt somehow

'crafty morning bump erases memory of all night ass to mouth - weekend saved'

It was my last day at my 'proper' job. No funding for my post any more. So I got a little tipsy. Do you know what made it worse? I didn't set my alarm this morning, thinking I would have a lie in. I only bloody woke up naturally at the time I'm used to.....mind you I suppose I you have to get up before 9 so I can have brekki before Jeremy Kyle. Isn't that what I'm supposed to do now?

no

you're supposed to do what you've always WANTED to do

which i'm presuming isn't watching jeremy kyle in your jim jams
