ALL NIGHT DISCO WRECKED MY WEEKEND

one minute you're on a festival forum practising work avoidance

the next you're in a gulag

with bloody colin farrell!

What did he do to get sent there? I haven't seen his recent work so may well be justifiable.

Also i hear you can rent a furnished gulag this year if you can't be bothered to put your tent up.

most years i get at least one student who tells me that 'peole who disagreed with stalin were sent to the goulash', also that Stalin 'liquidised' the kulaks as a class. I'm hungry and would like to be sent to the goulash right now.

Ha Ha!

My personal favourite clangers this year included:-

"Euthanasia has been decimalised in Switzerland."

"It's a controversial topic with lots of different points of view because everyone has got their own onions."

an entire people rise up against their corrupt but well armed monarchy - kickstarting the emancipation of working people around the world

and what do they get in return?

geddy lee singing in a silly high-pitched voice

You'll have to do without my wit and insightful comment this weekend - we're off to try out the new monster tent - torrential rain forecast for sunday - just the job!

Wish I was testing new tent this weekend.

Stress thy have been my first, middle and last name this week, well since Wednesday.

Gonna get bladdered tonight. Might even have a little dance....

Congratulations on a successful first outing Krasnyi, and belated happy birthday for yesterday.

You'll see on another thread that your festival abode has been christened 'The Kremlin'

Congratulations on The Kremlin.

I don't know when we are going to get a chance to test ours. Time is getting on and finding a free couple of days is going to be tough.

Such busy bees.

I'm struggling to find time for work in August, I'll worry about it later, in September.

The annoying thing about a new tent is that you know it will be impossible to fit all the bits back into the bag!

If it really was the Kremlin it would come with officious guards and unpleasant authoritarian political leaders, can't see them being much use packing a tent.

Thanks for the birthday greetings . . . how did you know though?

I like to call my officious guards, Stormtroopers...

I am only copying everyone else in wishing you a happy birthday....

if they told me to put my hand in the fire I would...

Just been told off. I'm supposed to be 'decluttering' my office and filling a bag for Oxfam. Instead, I'm playing my music too loud and messing about on the internet.

I'm 40 bloody 5...

and yes I have turned my music down...

At least I brought in all the camping stuff from the car and stacked it up neatly in the shed, did some ironing, phoned my ma-in-law to thank her for my pressie BEFORE I started loafing around on here. Now get to it sb!

I've done a full days work too, however it wasn't Bob, it was her from downstairs. What can I say... ?

I live in a sit-com.

i'm using the excuse of being poorly to not read through further than the first page before replying, so apologies if i'm repeating anything that's been said already, but....

i loved the dancing all night, to every kind of music. we were outside in the rain, no drugs, no alcohol, just the spirit of the music, the greenman and the joy of being alive energising every cell in my body. we didn't do the inside dancing as it just didn't get us but as the tent was busy it was obviously what some people needed.

the whole thing should be about awareness. self awareness of any distress you may cause others and common sense regarding what might distress you.

here's to all the facets of an aware society coming together for the spirit of nature, beauty and music in a few weeks :) xxx

Wow FK - trust you to sum up what I think we tried to make this thread become after it got off to a bad start.

... an aware society coming together for the spirit of nature, beauty and music ...

I'll have a bucketload of that if it's not being too greedy.

Is your Dad with you this year? I remember having a great chat with him at the meet you arranged a couple of years back.

Good on you for keeping it alive Krasnyi.
