GM doesn't publish exact stage times until the program available on site

but peridot has put together a great xcel doc using this year's line-up and last year's stage times - which should be pretty accurate

Hi Vonn!

The Green Man site is really much more east to navigate than IKEA although there aren't as many comfy places to sit down and there's generally more mud. The site is very compact and you'll soon know your way around.

My advice wuold be to arrive on the Thursday if you can. Get a decent pitch and then go exploring. Most of the food and other stalls are open from Thursday afternoon.

Fire away with any other questions, we're dead helpful on here.

Oh, you do know beards are compulsory?

You guys rock, are very helpful (and cheeky!). Unfortunately its looking like I won't be able to get there till Friday (so no doubt there will only be one pitch left next to the loos!). Will be armed and dangerous with Ikea sofa, a few scatter cushions, am cultivating the beard as we speak and and a very excitable nature! See you soon yep yep :)

They're just joshing you about the beard Vonn. Take no notice. I've been coming to GM since 2006 and I've never sported a beard, although I look like I'm aiming for one by Sunday.

The T-Shirt's a good idea though. I'm currently compiling an 'all night disco wrecked my weekend' mix 'n' mash-up. It'll be posted as a stream in the relevant thread as soon as...

Looks like we've got our ironic slogan.

Also "all night disco wrecked my weekend" is ambiguous. Perhaps the disco was so good that clubbers over indulged and ruined the rest of their plans for the weekend.

Green Man was running a competition to design the official 2011 t-shirt - this is an entirely unofficial thing for people who spend too much of their time avoiding work on this forum. ANDWMW to give it its acronym should really be a tabloid headline - could only be improved by inserting 'hell' after disco.

I was just planning to have the legend emblazoned across my manly chest. possibly yellow on a green t-shirt...just keep it simple.

Back to t-shirts ... if anyone artistic felt like knocking up a design as a doucument or image file, we could individually upload it on the Vistaprint website to get a shirt printed.

 Are we talking words alone as Krasnyi suggested- which would be fine for me, if the words were along the lines of: 

On the front: "All night Disco ruined my Weekend"

On the back: "Twee Army on Tour, 2011"

Maybe-ish sort of thing.

On the other hand I do rather like the "Pieminister as metaphor for male sexual prowess" thing that has recently begun to develop.

The logo would be interesting- could the Greenman one be used?

I think we have to substitute the word 'ruined' for 'wrecked'...as that is the thread title...

I don't really drink white wine. I prefer more substantial reds. And I've been going down the 'organic route' a lot lately, as I find it tends to lessen the hangover.

I might be able to help..... I'm a designery type (thick rimmed glasses etc) and have a tshirt shop online. Not sure what the deal is with spamming so I won't go as far as posting a link, I'll just give you the name and you can google it (Origin68) to make sure I'm not lying. I would be happy to knock something up if there was enough demand for it. Can get proper screenprints on some lovely earth positive organic shirts as opposed to those horrible transfer things they use on those 'design your own' sites. Would be cheaper too. Would have to get a batch of 25 done but they would definately be under £15 including postage.

 

Like I say, if enough people want them then I'm up for it.

i do like the idea of ALL NIGHT DISCO WRECKED MY WEEKEND ON THE FRONT maybe followed in smaller print by something like 'Friends of the Green Man Forum' andd maybe CARDIGAN-WEARING TWEE ARMY ON TOUR - GLANUSK 2011 on the back.

Ok people.

I've knocked up a few ideas based on your ramblings throughout this thread. Just trying to keep it simple as requested.

I'm thinking the best way to play this might be to choose a design and then I could set up a presale? Once we have enough people on board to cover the costs of production then I can get them printed. Obviously if this doesn't happen then I would return all your money put forward. This can be done through paypal. Clearly you would have to trust me a little on this. Hopefully the fact that I'm already running a tshirt shop should give you enough reasurrance that I'm not about to do a runner with your cash!
