49 Sleeps To Go

last time it was a film

so no - not too excited here either!

i suspect we'll be in a restaurant in crickhowell on thursday night

eating the last dinner at a proper table for a few days!

Thursday last year was aces.

We ate pizza, drank ale,  did a "KayLeigh" - (i know you dont spell it like that) with the very entertaining Cut-a-Shine crew and then had the premiere of the wonderful Bird on a Wire.

Thursdays are the new Fridays.

I plan to come in late thursday evening (because the bloody airplane arrives so late), hope I won't miss anything important.

I reckon the surprise will be a partially-nude aerial ballet re-telling the the story of the French Revolution on ice, with a live soundtrack provided by the Brotherhood of Man...

Or maybe a new print of an old film of interest to GM attendees, or possibly a DJ.

Thursday night last year i LOST THE FUCKING CAR KEYS in the car park, in the dark..

With the spare set and all the kit locked in.

This years big suprise will be that I manage to get it right.

an i tell you what would be an even bigger suprise would be-  some kind of forum meet.

Nah, never happens. well perhaps it does, and no one tells me.

Probably wouldn't get there anyway. The curse of Cyfarthfa. (which means 'the place of barking dogs by the way).

"why only partially?"

They used to be completely nude, but were arrested during their Royal Variety Show and so have adjusted the performance. Also the 'leap-frogging' sequence is much easier on the audience now.

They should burn the bloody green man on Thursday rather than waiting 'till the end when nobody is that bothered anyway.

Thursday evenings have not proved very successful for forum meets - perhaps we should find a daytime opportunity? It needs a good organiser too so I'm delighted to see that Krasnyi has volunteered ;-)

You could be right Peridot, Everyone is still settling in on Thursday eve, and choosing a place to meet seems to be difficult- especially when the site lay out changes, as it has done in recent years.

Also I seem to enter some strange paralell universe. I recently met some former students (and all round good sorts who play in the excellent Heavy Flames psycadelic band) who had been down the front for Henry's Funeral Shoe- hardly a massive crowd was it? They were wearing bright orange cagouls and opened out Weston's cider boxes for hats. They are also very tall. Did I notice them? No.

So perhaps Walter the excellent JacK Russell might be able to suggest something/somewhere suitable to meet?

I promise not to be rude bout him anymore.

I think guitar playing is an excellent idea. I would even tolerate bongos.
