We've been able to keep space for friends before although they need to be arriving more or less at the same time as if the area around the space fills up then they wouldn't be able to reach it anyway. Have a word with the stewards and they should be able to sort you out.
If you have a separate car the best bet is to drive it back up to the main car park once you've set up in the live-in vehicle field. Then you can come and go as you please. You won't be able to drive back in to the live-in vehicle area until the Monday morning.
