When a folk fan and a drum and bass obsessive join forces, it’s proof that opposites don’t just attract, they can incite original, heady creation. Manchester duo Lou Rhodes and Andy Barlow formed Lamb in 1994, releasing a self-titled debut in 1996, followed by a slew of albums and memorable shows. Their experimental approach fixates on starkly poetic lyrics set to electronica, with flecks of jazz and trip hop, provoking a contrast that’s complex and catchy. With seventh album The Secret of Letting Go released this April, it’s a sheer thrill to have Lamb’s intoxicating sound come to Green Man.
