When two Glaswegians, both central to their city’s music scene - from Aidan Moffat’s time with Arab Strap to guitarist RM Hubbert’s 2012 Scottish Album of the Year win – collaborate on an album that sets a relationship's lifespan to synth-pop, samba, gospel, rap, and jazz, you know there’s going to be sparks. On 2018's Here Lies The Body, Hubbert's flamenco-punk guitar lends a raw restlessness to the balm of Moffat's frank sing-speak. I fancy you hen, he deadpans at one point. The time has come to talk of many things, of jeggings and love and arcade games, of ageing and death. And we reckon there’s no better place for a musical conversation than Green Man.
