Science Songwriter Of The Future

Can you write, rehearse and perform a song, all in one weekend? Sure you can! And when we say “you”, we really mean YOU! Over the festival weekend, participants in a special Einstein’s Garden workshop – part of the Garden’s daily Crafternoon Tea Party – will gather to transform song ideas into music and lyrics. On the final day, budding songwriters get the chance to perform what they’ve written live on the Solar Stage in Einstein’s Garden. It’s experimental but it might just be brilliant.

All the songs will take their inspiration from science and nature, the themes of Einstein’s Garden, with workshops led by scientist and prolific science songwriter Dr Martin Austwick from The Sound of the Ladies.

This project is part of Science Songwriter of the Future! 2012, a science songwriting competition from Sociable Physics and Geek Pop, supported by I’m A Scientist Get Me Out of Here!, the Institute of Physics, Einstein’s Garden and House of Strange.

The Scientists’ Crafternoon Tea Party is open to all! (See details in the Workshop Dome listings.
