Jonny Berliner

After three years of studying the History and Philosophy of Science at Leeds University, Jonny realised his degree qualified him for no real jobs at all. So he became a musician.

And then in 2007, the Guardian Science Podcast asked him to write some songs. At last his years of study had purpose. Since then he has been singing science at people across the country and continues to do so. Covering everything from lobsters to dark matter, he really is the geekiest songwriter around.

Performances at Festival of the Spoken Nerd and Geek Pop, and airtime on the podcast of the peer-reviewed journal Nature are just some of Jonny’s nerd credits. He has even been found singing about science during a ramble in the Quantock Hills, for BBC Radio 4’s Ramblings show.
