Black Mountains Falconry

A chance to meet birds of prey and learn about their behaviour, evolution and natural environment. Roger James of Black Mountains Falconry will be bringing some of his majestic birds to Einstein’s Garden on Saturday 18th only, beginning with a live falconry display at the Solar Stage.

Chairman of the Welsh Hawking Club, Roger James has been a professional falconer for thirty years. He has a B.A. in Art History, and still paints and sculpts – mainly birds of prey, of course.

As well as spending time flying and hunting, he is involved in a project called “Forgotten Landscapes”, which aims to regenerate and improve the biodiversity of sites in the Welsh valleys, previously damaged by the iron and coal industries.
