THE LEGENDARY GREEN MAN BOAT PARTY RETURNS
AHOY THERE ME HEARTIES... Here's a reminder for all you shipmates joining us aboard The Dixie Queen Saturday June 16th for an unforgettable afternoon of nautical naughtiness, live music, and fun games on the rock ‘n’ rolling River Thames!
We’ve got amazing aquatic sets from the incredible Field Music, the brilliant Three Trapped Tigers and the aptly named Tom Williams & The Boat.
PLUS!! THE BEST BEARD ON BOARD will win tickets to this year’s Green Man Festival!! That doesn’t mean it has to be o’natural, and it certainly doesn’t apply to just the men onboard. Think outside the box for your chance to win this exclusive booty!! Maybe a knitted beard, a marshmallow moustache or goatee made out of paperclips? It's entirely up to you.
There will also be a Special DJ set by Cliff Gloom from Feeling Gloomy, The Green Man DJs will be spinning some records, and we've got several kegs of pirate-strength cider just waiting to be guzzled and gulped.
Festival favourites The Holloway Jug Band will be onboard to help keep the wind in our sails, and we’ll also be providing a whole treasure chest full of FUN GAMES to keep you and your first mate entertained...
AND as if that wasn't enough, it has now been confirmed that TOWER BRIDGE will be open for us to set sail through at the end of our voyage.
Field Music Consistently brilliant indie/art rock from Sunderland’s Brewis brothers. Latest album Plumb is one of our favourites of 2012 so far, and crams 15 tightly-wound, impossible-to-ignore pop gems in to 35 breathless minutes.
Three Trapped Tigers Instrumental noisenik trio with influences ranging from Aphex Twin and Squarepusher to Lightning Bolt and Battles. Their music veers wildly from noisy guitars to contemplative synths, frantic beats to ambient noise.
Tom Williams & The Boat Poetic sharp wit and heartfelt tales of love lost from the six-piece “anti-folk” band. New album Teenage Blood was released this month via the ever-discerning Moshi Moshi label.
Get your sea legs on and head to Butlers Wharf Pier, London on Saturday June 16th - we set sail at 1pm sharp for a fabulous five-hour river cruise from Tower Bridge to the Thames Barrier and back - landlubbers need not apply!
Tickets are £25.00 (plus £1.50 booking fee) from: http://www.ticketline.co.uk/green-man-boat-party-tickets
The Dixie Queen - a gorgeous paddle steamer - will leave Butler's Wharf Pier at 1pm sharp, please leave plenty of time to get there. The nearest tubes are London Bridge or Tower Hill. When the boat party finishes at 6pm you will be dropped off on the other side of the river at Tower Millennium Pier.
